About the Opportunity 
We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to support our Waikato Branch. You will be motivated, have a positive work ethic and keen to develop new skills. You should have a modern approach to accounting; reporting to the Branch Accountant you will assist in managing and completing the financial and commercial reporting including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. This also includes working with Project Managers to ensure contractual claims, earned value, cost forecasting and reporting is completed.
You will need to have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication skills are a must, given that you’ll be required to interact with a wide number of key internal stakeholders. This is a hands-on role so we are looking for a quick thinker who can solve issues, have high attention to detail and provide accurate information promptly.

About you 
Tertiary qualification in accounting with 3 years post-degree practical accounting experience
Experience in the civil sector or equivalent is desirable
High attention to detail
Highly organised, ability to prioritise 
Advanced in Excel, and comfortable with new technology and computer systems.
Excellent communication skills
