The Opportunity

Safety is the cornerstone of our success, ensuring in everything we do we “Act with Care”. Our health and safety professionals are central to this approach and we now have a requirement in our Nelson Branch for an EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) Advisor. 

Reporting to the Branch Manager in Nelson, you will partner with the business to enhance and develop a positive safety focused culture while proactively leading EHS best practice and initiatives. This is a pivotal role in a fast paced changeable environment where no two days are the same You will be a strong communicator, excellent problem solver and leader of change and you will need to have an appetite to get around to our sites and projects.

What you'll need to bring:

We are keen to speak to people who can achieve EHS excellence through generating engagement in safety, rather than just compliance.

To join this diverse safety community you will have proven analytical skills to complete and write complex incident investigation reports (ICAM reports). You will demonstrate the ability to influence and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, local authorities and clients.

Although candidates offering the desired Level 4 qualification in OHS relating to the construction sector will be considered favourably, the foundation of this role is suited to a self-motived team player that has a strong working knowledge of the New Zealand legislative environment.

This is a challenging position suited to those who are passionate about health and safety and who enjoy working with and alongside a diverse range of people. The successful individual will be someone who has the ability to lead and foster a safe and healthy preventative working culture.
