About the Position

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, you’ll join a collaborative and experienced senior leadership team committed to driving innovation and growth. Through our significant national footprint, Laminex delivers leading products and services to thousands of customers. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager – Sales to lead our national sales function, which includes transactional and specification teams in each state, and national sales support functions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a compelling national sales strategy aligned with Laminex’s business goals.
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing sales team, including State and National Segment Managers, and their teams.
  • Be the Voice of the Customer in the business - advocating, designing and executing programs that deliver customer excellence.
  • Drive market share growth through customer engagement, working with the business to ensure a compelling product & service offer to all key customer groups.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of key operational areas including pricing, forecasting, promotional planning, and sales force effectiveness standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders across Laminex and Fletcher Building.

About You

  • Proven experience in leading complex national sales environments with diverse channels and customer groups.
  • Background in building products, consumer goods or FMCG.
  • Proven track record in leading national sales teams at scale, with the ability to drive sales force effectiveness, sales operations and continuous improvement programs.
  • Commercially strong, excellent financial acumen, deep expertise in selling and negotiating in complex environments.
  • Executive presence with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders, internally & externally.
  • Highly analytical and ability to translate data into insights and action.
  • CRM savvy – experience driving national sales activities via Salesforce.com would be highly regarded.
  • High emotional intelligence, adaptable, and thrives in collaborative environments.
