Description

Higgins Green Team is looking for an experienced Asphalt Maintenance Operator to join our team working within the Port of Tauranga environment.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in a variety of asphalt maintenance activities, including pothole repairs, mill and fill works, paving operations, and general road maintenance. We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable operating plant and getting stuck in alongside the crew.

What you'll be doing

Asphalt repairs, pothole repairs, and hand-laid asphalt work
Supporting milling and paving operations
Operating plant and equipment as required
General civil and asphalt maintenance activities
Working safely within an active operational port environment
Delivering quality workmanship as part of a small, high-performing team

What you'll bring

Essential

Class 2 Driver Licence
WTR endorsements
Civil construction experience
Asphalt or paving experience
Strong practical and labouring skills
Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork

Preferred

Class 4 or 5 Licence
Experience operating rollers, skid steers, loaders, excavators, tipper trucks, or pavers
Experience working around milling and paving operations
Traffic management experience or STMS qualification
Experience operating paving equipment, including screed functions
