Laminex New Zealand is a diverse business incorporating Manufacturing, Distribution and Sales. With manufacturing sites in Hamilton and Taupo, Distribution Centres in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland, a high performing Customer Service Team in Auckland and 9 Sales/Customer Service Branches nationwide, we manufacture and distribute Laminex New Zealand products such as Meltica, Laminex and particleboard as well as buy in and on sell products sourced from 3rd parties.
We are looking for a Procurement Manager to join our team based at our Head Office in Penrose.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the National Operations Manager you will be responsible for delivering procurement outcomes through strategic approaches, this includes strategy development, market engagement, sourcing, supplier management and contract negotiation.
Key components of the role include:
  • Planning, executing, and delivering the Laminex procurement strategy and savings deliverables
  • Leading the development, implementation and management of a process for measuring and benchmarking suppliers’ performance and develop strategies for continuous improvement.  
  • Influencing and effecting behavioural change as it relates to executing procurement strategies and plans.
  • Coordinating and aligning with Fletcher Building and the Building Products Division around procurement strategies and plans.
The scope of the role covers the supply agreements of raw materials, consumables, bought in products and services to our Manufacturing and Sales & Distribution sites.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have significant experience in a similar role or you may be in a similar industry and looking for that next challenge. 
Ideally you have had exposure to operating in a large, complex environment. You have a track record of implementing best practices and have solid business and commercial acumen. 

Known for your ability to influence and communicate, you will be a highly motivated self-starter. 
Building or Building Materials industry knowledge would be an advantage.
