Tasman Insulation is the market leading manufacturer and supplier of residential and commercial insulation products to the building industry in New Zealand for over 50 years, including the iconic Pink® Batts® brand.
 
Our manufacturing facility in Penrose is a continually running production plant where we pride ourselves on our efficiency and where our teams identify opportunities for continuous improvement. We are looking for a Production Operator to support our production team with a range of process driven and health and safety responsibilities.
 
About the role
This role works on a twelve-hour shift pattern of two-day shifts, two night shifts and then four days off. The job is primarily focused on safely operating machines in the Pink® Batts® manufacturing plant. Responsibilities will range across daily checking of the plant, plant operation and process control, fault finding, quality assurance, along with general manufacturing duties. The person would have the capability to step up to support other areas when members of the team are away. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in an open team environment.
 
About you
To be suitable for this role you will need to have a cross functional mindset and proven mechanical aptitude – cause and effect – experience. You will have the ability to have a cool head under pressure. You will come from a manufacturing environment and understand manufacturing processes. You will have an analytical approach and be able to see the bigger picture of how your team contribute to the overall organisation’s success. Safe work practices are a must as well as a positive attitude, excellent communication and willingness to learn new tasks.
