Careers Made Possible at Brian Perry Civil
Ready to take the next step in your career? Join a team that thrives on collaboration and bold thinking, delivering complex civil projects that shape communities and protect environments. Here, your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your work leaves a lasting impact.

About the Role

We're looking for a Project Quality Manager to join a major bridges and roads project in Ashburton. This is a fixed-term opportunity through to December 2027, supporting the delivery of quality outcomes across the full project lifecycle.

While the position title is Project Quality Manager, this is a highly hands-on role that would ideally suit a Senior Quality Engineer ready to transition into quality leadership. You will work closely alongside the project's experienced quality professionals and delivery teams to establish, implement, and continuously improve all project quality assurance requirements.

This is not a traditional people-management role. Instead, the successful candidate will be actively involved in the day-to-day delivery of quality assurance activities, helping build and maintain the project's quality systems, processes, inspections, testing programs, and compliance requirements. We are looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the detail, working collaboratively with engineers and site teams, and driving quality outcomes through practical engagement with the project.

  • Implementing and maintaining project quality management plans, systems and procedures
  • Coordinating quality assurance activities including inspections, audits, testing and work pack reviews
  • Supporting subcontractors and project teams to meet quality requirements and project deliverables
  • Monitoring quality performance, managing non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Maintaining quality records and supporting project completion and handover activities
  • Building effective working relationships with client representatives and providing practical quality support to delivery teams

What You'll Bring

  • A Civil Engineering qualification, quality management qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience in a Quality Engineer, Senior Quality Engineer role on civil or infrastructure projects
  • Sound knowledge of NZTA and large-scale infrastructure project quality requirements
  • Experience delivering quality processes across project delivery, including inspections, ITPs, audits, compliance and handover documentation
  • Working knowledge of document management and quality systems such as Procore
  • A practical, proactive approach with the ability to work independently and solve problems on site
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors and clients
