Description

Regional Manager – Shape the Region. Grow the Industry. Create a Legacy.

For more than 160 years, Winstone Aggregates has helped build New Zealand. Now, we are looking for an exceptional Regional Manager to lead our Lower North Island operations across Belmont and Ōtaki — and help shape what comes next.

This is a senior leadership role with real influence: leading a region, developing great people, lifting operational excellence, delivering strategic projects and contributing to an industry that is critical to New Zealand’s future.

You may already bring quarrying or extractives experience, and that will be highly valued. More importantly, you will bring the leadership judgement, commercial focus and people-first approach to build capability, strengthen performance and leave a legacy through the region you lead.

As Regional Manager, you will set the direction for the region and turn strategy into action. You will lead safe, efficient and commercially strong operations; embed operational excellence; guide long-term quarry planning and resource development; oversee capital investment and strategic projects; and build trusted relationships with customers, communities, iwi, regulators and key stakeholders.

You will join a highly experienced, down-to-earth Senior Leadership Team where your voice will matter and your leadership will help grow the industry, not just the operation.

What you will bring

Senior leadership experience in quarrying, extractives or a comparable operational environment; quarrying experience is preferred
Commercial judgement across budgets, profitability, capital investment and business performance
A track record of building high-performing teams, coaching leaders and growing capability
Experience lifting safety, productivity, customer outcomes and operational excellence
Project management discipline to lead complex initiatives and deliver outcomes through others
Strong stakeholder leadership with customers, communities, iwi, regulators and senior leaders
A safety, wellbeing and environmental mindset, with the ambition to develop your people and the industry around you

Why this role matters

This is more than a regional operations role. It is your opportunity to influence at senior level, lead work that matters and shape a region with scale, complexity and long-term growth potential.

A visible role on the Senior Leadership Team, influencing business direction and regional strategy
The chance to lift operational excellence and project delivery across a critical region
Investment in leadership development, career growth and capability across Fletcher Building
A practical, values-led culture built on trusted relationships and pride in doing work that matters
The opportunity to leave a lasting legacy through people, performance and industry growth

If you are a commercially astute, people-centred leader ready to shape a region, grow great people and contribute to an enduring New Zealand business, we would love to hear from you.

We are open to "move ready" overseas candidates and outside of Wellington area that are a match and can offer relocation support

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
