Description

Higgins is looking for a Renewals Manager to join our Wellington Maintenance Team.
In this role, you'll lead the planning and delivery of the annual renewals programme across a live transport network. Working closely with contract leadership, operational teams, and our client, you'll be responsible for ensuring renewals programme are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

This role suits someone who enjoys taking ownership, balancing strategic planning with delivery, and working collaboratively to achieve outstanding outcomes for our communities and clients.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead the planning and delivery of annual and forward works renewals programmes
  • Use asset data, condition insights, and management systems to validate treatment selections and optimise programme delivery
  • Oversee pavement rehabilitation, resurfacing, and wider asset renewals activities
  • Manage internal crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver work safely and efficiently
  • Monitor programme progress, budgets, risks, and performance against contract objectives
  • Manage variations, claims, and programme changes
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are maintained across all projects
  • Provide clear reporting, risk identification, and escalation where required
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to contract success

What you'll bring
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Experience delivering renewals programmes, maintenance contracts, civil construction, or roading projects
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, programme planning, cost control, and risk management
  • Knowledge of NZTA specifications, industry standards, and roading methodologies
  • Experience with forward works programming, scheduling, and programme optimisation
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using asset management and digital delivery systems
  • Understanding of traffic management and health and safety requirements within operational environments
  • Ability to manage budgets, financial forecasting, and programme performance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
