ABOUT THE ROLE:

We have an exciting opportunity for an up and coming Accountant to join our close-knit team based in Penrose. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll get a good mix of responsibilities to give you an end to end commercial experience. Responsibilities include:

Month end journals and consolidation work
Monthly and annual reporting packs and uploads to Group
Budgeting and forecasting
Rebates management
Preparation of indirect taxes such as FBT
Assist the Financial Controller in various other financial tasks
You will also assist the team in providing compliance advice and support to the company, including internal policies and procedures, and compliance with statutory accounting/taxation standards. This role will give you an end to end business view.

ABOUT YOU:

This role is a true stepping stone to paving an established career path within Laminex and the wider Fletcher Building Group. Supported by an experienced team who can mentor you, you will have the aspiration to develop and further your career as well as:

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and be a qualified CA or working towards your qualification
Overall 2-3 years financial accounting experience required
Advanced excel skills and Power BI data modelling and visualisation skills will be an advantage
Your proactive and innovative approach will be key to your success, as will your ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organisation with a variety of stakeholders
You will have experience or a willingness to work with various systems and do some manual processing while we look to implement SAP in the near future
You will also be someone who is thorough with high attention to detail, a super organised approach and ability to prioritise your workload with efficiency
You will be a team player who is open to challenging themselves and the processes around them
