Description

Stramit is looking for a hands-on Afternoon Shift Supervisor to join our manufacturing team at Erskine Park. This is a key leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading from the front, and making sure production runs safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll lead a team across our afternoon shift operation. You'll be the key link between planning and production, ensuring the shift delivers on safety, quality and output targets while building a positive, high-performing team culture.

Shift hours: Approximately 2:00pm – 10:30pm (Monday to Friday)

About the role

As Afternoon Shift Supervisor, you'll take ownership of shift performance from start to finish. You'll spend your time supporting your team, solving problems, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring production targets are achieved safely.

A typical shift will include:
  • Leading shift start-up meetings and setting clear priorities
  • Coordinating labour and resources across the production floor
  • Monitoring production performance and responding quickly to issues
  • Managing breakdowns, material shortages and operational challenges
  • Coaching and supporting team members and leading hands
  • Tracking KPIs and driving accountability across the shift
  • Working closely with planning, maintenance and day shift teams
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance standards are met
  • Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality and efficiency
  • Conducting shift handovers and ensuring clear communication between teams
  • Rolling up your sleeves and helping the team when needed

About you

You're a practical leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You know how to motivate people, manage priorities, and keep operations running smoothly while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

To be successful, you'll bring:
  • Previous experience leading teams within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong people leadership and team engagement skills
  • The ability to make decisions and solve problems under pressure
  • Experience managing production KPIs and delivering results
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence having difficult conversations when required
  • A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing operations and production processes
  • Experience in roll-forming, steel manufacturing or building products manufacturing will be highly regarded
