Description

Raylight Aluminium has been an industry leader in Canterbury aluminium joinery for over 50 years.

Raylight Aluminium is looking for an Aluminium Joinery Fabricator / Assembly person to join our Wigram factory team. This role will support the assembly of aluminium windows and doors across residential and commercial work.

Aluminium experience is not essential. We are happy to train someone with low or no aluminium experience if they have the right attitude.

We are building a team where people work safely, back each other, communicate well and take pride in doing the job properly

About the role
This role supports the assembly area of the factory and helps turn prepared aluminium profiles and components into high-quality finished joinery ready for glazing, quality checks and dispatch. You will be working with a team that values safety, reliability, respect and helping each other get the job done properly

Daily responsibilities include

  • Working across residential and commercial assembly as required
  • Fitting hardware, liners and related components
  • Reading job sheets and following production instructions
  • Completing quality checks on your own work before it moves to the next stage
  • Supporting a tidy, safe and efficient assembly workflow

This is a permanent full-time role offering 40 hours a week. Standard hours are 6:00am–3:15pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00am–11:00am Friday

What we offer

  • Competitive hourly rate, with time and a half paid after 40 hours for those who want the opportunity to earn extra
  • A 4.5-day working week with an 11:00am finish on Fridays
  • Training and support for someone with low or no aluminium experience who has the right attitude
  • A supportive team environment where people help each other and take pride in their work
  • A positive team culture where people work safely, back each other and take pride in doing the job properly
  • Staff benefits through the wider Fletcher Building Group
  • Opportunity to upskill and move across different areas of the factory

We are looking for someone who brings
  • A safe and responsible approach to work
  • Reliability, honesty and trustworthiness
  • A team-first attitude and willingness to help the people around you
  • Respect for the team, the workplace and the standard of work expected
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • A good eye for detail and pride in the quality of their work
  • Comfortable using tablets or willing to learn, as we work from digital job sheets rather than paper
  • Good practical skills using hand tools and factory equipment, or the willingness to learn
  • Aluminium fabrication or aluminium joinery assembly experience would be helpful, but is not essential for the right person
  • Physical fitness, as lifting and moving joinery is required at times

Pre-employment checks including references, medical, drug test and a Criminal background check is required as well as the legal right to work in NZ indefinitely.
