Description

The Higgins Tauranga team have an opportunity for an Asphalt Paving Supervisor to join the Surfacing division. 

Reporting to the Surfacing Manager, you will be actively involved in the planning and supervising the safe successful day-to-day activities of a paving crew. You will have the ability to lead and motivate your team of between 8-12 members and will be involved in large resurfacing projects, State Highway works, site works and sub-divisions.

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • 5+ years technical experience in planning and delivering a variety of asphalt and compaction methodologies 
  • Experience with plant and people resourcing, managing utilisation and plant costs 
  • The ability to lead, motivate and influence your team
  • Full clean Class 1 New Zealand Driver’s License – Class 2 and WTR beneficial
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written and a person who can build long standing relationships
  • Self-motivation, a positive attitude and the ability to think for yourself
  • Be a reliable, honest and flexible team-player 
  • A strong focus on health and safety not only for yourself, your team but also the public.
