Description

The Higgins Team in Hamilton is seeking an Operator to join the crew at the asphalt plant.  You will be part of a small, close-knit team that manufactures and supplies mix to both external and internal clients. You will operate the Asphalt Plant and associated equipment safely and efficiently.

We welcome applications from experienced plant operators, as well as those with a manufacturing or mechanical background who are keen to build a career in civil manufacturing. If you’re motivated, safety focused, and eager to learn, we can support you to grow into the role.

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • 2+ years’ relevant experience 
  • Experience operating fixed and mobile plant and machinery ideal
  • Experience working safely around mobile plant, high temperature processes and hazardous substances
  • Familiarity with handling bitumen with D & F endorsements would be an advantage but not essential
  • Full Class 1 licence essential – WTR and Class 2 are desirable (support provided to obtain these)
  • Flexibility to work a roster of days and nights
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • A strong commitment to health and safety
