Golden Bay is the only New Zealand manufacturer of cement, supplying the NZ building industry for over 100 years. With a focus on sustainability and low carbon manufacturing, we aim to continue this legacy for the next century.

We are seeking a Reliability/Asset Engineer with industrial experience, ideally in cement or similar heavy manufacturing. You will ensure asset reliability and performance, working with various departments to develop maintenance strategies and improve operational efficiency.

This role will be integral to our ability to maintain the momentum in our carbon reduction journey, check out our video of the kiln replacement to support the use of alternate fuels

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement reliability and maintenance strategies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and FMEA.
  • Collaborate with teams to optimize asset performance.
  • Monitor and analyze asset data for improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Update and improve plant equipment.
  • Determine asset lifecycles and replacement strategies.
  • Prepare and submit business cases.
  • Implement technological advancements for efficiency.
  • Optimize MEX and AM process improvements.
  • Oversee maintenance planning and scheduling:
  • Develop long-term maintenance plans.
  • Conduct asset health checks.
  • Monthly reporting and KPI alignment.
  • Ensure HSE compliance and safety leadership:
  • Engage team in Health and Safety.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • Proven experience in reliability engineering or asset management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management systems and reliability tools.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
