Reporting to the Category Manager for Power Tools
, the Assistant Category Manager
(ACM) role is a terrific entry point into the world of category management. Your core function will focus around product support for our branches and a big part of this involves preparing and facilitating vital product master data, so a keen eye for detail and meeting precise standards is a must. You will be a key liaison point with both our store teams and our suppliers, so you will need to be a confident communicator, demonstrate strong written & verbal communication skills along with a customer-centric way of responding to people. A regular promotional program will require the ACM to manage the preparation of promotional offer submissions involving promotional price setting, sales & margin assessment & forecasting, product allocation processes, preparing advertising copy, image and data proof-reading.
This role will also allow you to utilise and build skills in data analysis and reporting as you assist with monitoring KPIs, range reviews, competitor and post-promotion analysis. You will know your way around a spreadsheet and you will feel comfortable getting your head around systems quickly and looking for ways to be more efficient.
A key facet of this role is in the organisation of our annual “Monster Tool Sale”
. This is the cornerstone promotional activity for this category, organised nationally and with locally focused event planning for each of our 50+ branches. This is a lively and much anticipated event in the branch calendar and as ACM you will be attending selected Monster Tool branch events around the country to ensure their smooth operation and act as liaison on the day between our supplier demonstrator teams and branch staff.
