About the Role:
As an Assisting Category Manager, you will be supporting the Category Manager with the development and implementation of strategic plans across PlaceMakers. Ensuring strong supplier partnerships and executing high-quality category initiatives across the PlaceMakers network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage category strategies to achieve sales and profit targets
  • Provide guidance to the Category Manager on pricing movements and make recommendations where required
  • Develop and maintain promotional plans in conjunction with Suppliers and provide quality briefings to the marketing team for activation requirements
  • Work through solutions with suppliers and keep communication channels open with relevant parties
  • Foster strong supplier relationships and exceptional internal stakeholder relationships
  • Drive strategic supply decisions to optimize commercial performance
  • Conduct market research to identify new or alternative product ranges and suppliers
  • Ensure all supplier agreements are in place, reviewed, and renewed.

This role is based full time from our Support office in Penrose. Offering 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday 

About You:
  • Self-starter with a commitment to high performance and a passion for driving business success.
  • Excellent people relationship and communication skills
  • Category or product management experience is ideal, however not essential
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Proven ability to develop promotional campaigns on a national scope.
  • Knowledge of distribution, retail, and/or the building industry is desirable.
