About the Role:

As an Assisting Category Manager, you will be supporting the Category Manager with the development and implementation of strategic plans across PlaceMakers. Ensuring strong supplier partnerships and executing high-quality category initiatives across the PlaceMakers network.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage category strategies to achieve sales and profit targets
Provide guidance to the Category Manager on pricing movements and make recommendations where required
Develop and maintain promotional plans in conjunction with Suppliers and provide quality briefings to the marketing team for activation requirements
Work through solutions with suppliers and keep communication channels open with relevant parties
Foster strong supplier relationships and exceptional internal stakeholder relationships
Drive strategic supply decisions to optimize commercial performance
Conduct market research to identify new or alternative product ranges and suppliers
Ensure all supplier agreements are in place, reviewed, and renewed.

This role is based full time from our Support office in Penrose. Offering 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday

About You:

Self-starter with a commitment to high performance and a passion for driving business success.
Excellent people relationship and communication skills
Category or product management experience is ideal, however not essential
Excellent analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Proven ability to develop promotional campaigns on a national scope.
Knowledge of distribution, retail, and/or the building industry is desirable.
