The Opportunity

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our busy Masterton Branch. Working with the Branch Manager you will play a key role in support the teaming to ensure our customers are our top priority and our ability provide them with excellent service is never in doubt. 

We see this role covering two key areas in the Branch – firstly that of Senior Counter Sales, and secondly, Internal Key Accounts Support. In both areas you will work closely with the Branch Manager to ensure that we provide our customers with the best service and support they will find in the industry. 

Day to day you will support the operations of the branch as a Senior Counter Sales team member, looking after customer needs and setting the benchmark for what good looks like for those who shop with us. We want for more junior staff, and any future staff, to look to you for advice and support, and you will also be recognised as the ‘go to’ person for any product queries our customers may have. 

You will also act in the capacity of Internal Key Account Support and in this capacity, you will take ownership for being the first port of call for key customers. In order to do this successfully you will work with the branch across a number of other key areas which will include things like margin management, pricing, and negotiating customer accounts. 

Our successful person will be a team player who can inspire and lead by example.  
We do require someone with proven industry knowledge and experience along with a passion for looking after our trade and retail customers. As a result, experience in the trade, plumbing or building industries is required for this role, 

This is a full time permanent position Monday to Friday 7.30 am to 4.30 pm and includes a rostered Saturday morning every fortnight from 9.00am to midday.
