Role: Automation Engineer x2 -  Tauriko, Tauranga. Monday to Friday - 40 hour week.

The Role
As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Tauriko manufacturing operations and be part of the Engineering Projects Team. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the delivery of the control system portion of larger-scale projects, ensure the company stays abreast of the latest control system developments, and provide day-to-day engineering technical support to the Tauriko site operations as required.


About You
We’re seeking a seasoned professional with a strong foundation in Automation Engineering. Ideally you will have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, demonstrating a solid track record of designing and implementing automation solutions. Your background should include:
 
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering (e.g. Electrical, Industrial Automation, Control Systems, Mechatronics) or Trade Qualified Electrician with relevant skills and/or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in Safety PLC Code.
  • PLC programming experience with Rockwell and other platforms.
  • SCADA/HMI design and configuration experience. 
  • Strong understanding of networking mediums and protocols.
  • Experience with process and batching control.
  • Understanding of Electrical Design - Strong understanding of electrical circuit design, control panel design, and instrumentation (Eplan, AutoCAD).
  • Strong technical problem solving skills, ability to troubleshoot and fault-find on electrical and control systems.
  • Ability to communicate across functionally separate groups to identify, analyse and resolve automation related issues.
