To maintain and build on our position in the market, Higgins are looking for a Bid Writer to write proposals that articulate our value proposition and provide customers with compelling reasons (with supporting data) to engage Higgins to deliver their projects.
You will have the ability to write effective, concise and compelling content, under pressure and to tight deadlines. Your ability to extract and gather accurate, high quality information from stakeholders (internal and external) in order to produce proposal material is essential. You will have excellent research skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into plain English. The ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance environment is essential. You will have between 3 – 5 years’ experience in writing tenders/bids. Industry experience will be highly advantageous.
You will work alongside the Commercial Bid Team, collating information for the written proposal, writing, administering and updating the tender plan; coordinating requirements with contributors and contributing proposal status information to review meetings.
We require someone with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong experience in the use of the range of Microsoft products (particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is another strength we will be looking for.
As bids are often issued to tight timelines there may be proposal preparation activities carrying into the evenings prior to deadlines. This position is a critical role for the success of the team and will need to support this activity with flexible hours as required for the role. This position will be based out of our branch in Hamilton supporting the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Regions bid requirements
