Description

Are you a skilled operator with a passion for quality and efficiency? Higgins, a leading company in roading and construction, is looking for a Bitumen Sprayer Operator to join our dynamic team.

In this role you will be working a minimum of 40 hours per week and have the flexibility to work additional hours/days during our peak season.


What you'll do:

  • Operate bitumen sprayers and other related machinery efficiently.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards, following all relevant regulations, industry best practices, and specifications.
  • Manage bitumen operations including pre-start checks, heating, blending, storage, and production monitoring.
  • Uphold safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Assist in plant and machinery maintenance, quality control, and the continuous development of crew skills.

What we're looking for:

  • Solid experience in operating heavy machinery, especially bitumen sprayers.
  • A thorough understanding of bitumen handling and associated equipment.
  • Ability to follow plans and schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Relevant licenses (WTR, Class 1-4, Dangerous Goods) are essential, and STMS qualification is a plus.
