Urban Quarry is a growing urban quarrying and recycling business within the Fletcher Building group, created to support safer, more efficient, and more sustainable materials recovery in New Zealand’s cities.

Operating in complex urban environments, Urban Quarry brings together people, technology, and thoughtful design to transform how quarrying and recycling services are delivered—today and as the business continues to evolve.

This newly established role offers the chance to shape how Urban Quarry operates day to day.

As Business Transformation Lead, you will design and continuously improve the people structures, systems, and reporting that enable safe operations, clear decision‑making, and scalable growth.

You will work closely with site leaders and corporate teams to embed practical change that genuinely supports those doing the work.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Designing and evolving fit‑for‑purpose operating models, people structures, and reporting frameworks
Leading the implementation of simple, effective systems that support daily operations and reduce administrative effort
Supporting new site start‑ups and integrations across people, process, and technology
Identifying and introducing technology and automation that improves safety, efficiency, and insight
Acting as a thoughtful change leader, supporting teams through growth and transformation
Ensuring systems and operating models strengthen health, safety, and environmental outcomes

What You’ll Bring:

Experience in business transformation within industrial, infrastructure, quarrying, or similar environments
A strong understanding of operating models, process design, and organisational structure
Confidence leading change through collaboration, communication, and influence
Commercial and analytical capability to support business cases and informed decision‑making
A practical, improvement‑focused mindset with comfort navigating ambiguity
Flexibility to travel within New Zealand and occasionally to Australia
