Role Overview:

As the Category Development Manager, you'll play a key role in Oliveri's product innovation and profitability. You'll be responsible for sourcing and negotiating the supply of new, profitable product categories. Your focus will be on securing products at competitive prices, supporting successful product launches with creative marketing materials and campaigns, and developing pricing strategies to enhance profitability.
In this role, you’ll build new supplier relationships, identify market opportunities, and oversee product procurement and delivery. You’ll also work on creating effective marketing strategies and provide training to staff on new product developments and lifecycle management. This position offers a chance to significantly contribute to our business by managing and growing our product categories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the national category management strategy for all Oliveri category portfolios.
  • Develop and maintain strategic direct supplier relationships to optimise procurement economies and ensure that the business maintains a competitive advantage over its competitors.
  • Establish product positioning (features, benefits, pricing etc.)
  • Develop marketing plans for new and existing products and collaborate with Sales Managers to implement these plans across the retail network.
  • Implement company policy and initiatives by communicating and contextualising information from the leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Degree or above in Business, Marketing or similar discipline.
  • Solid track record of working in in consumer goods Trade Marketing /Category Management/ National Account Management
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong computer skills in spreadsheets, databases and presentation software
  • Demonstrated competencies in collaboration, teamwork, critical thinking and achieving results in alignment with business goals
  • Sales management experience dealing with customers at senior level.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
