Description

Firth has been part of Aotearoa’s building landscape for over 95 years, proudly supplying ready‑mixed concrete, masonry products, and premix nationwide. As part of the wider Fletcher Building Group, Firth is supported by a network of expertise, strong values, and a commitment to looking after its people.

With around 600 team members and thousands of customers across the country, Firth plays a vital role in supporting both local communities and national growth.

We’re looking for a Certified Plant Manager to lead our Invercargill plant with warmth, confidence, and a focus on people.
This role suits someone who enjoys empowering others, creating a safe and inclusive environment, and building strong relationships with customers and colleagues.

What you’ll enjoy
  • Supportive leadership culture with strong values around safety, care, and collaboration
  • Opportunities for professional learning and growth
  • A close‑knit, local team backed by the strength of Fletcher Building
  • Variety in your day — from plant operations to customer engagement
  • A workplace that celebrates continuous improvement and values fresh thinking

What you’ll be doing
  • Creating a safe, respectful, and high‑performing environment for your team
  • Overseeing daily plant operations, including batching, logistics, and dispatch
  • Providing hands‑on operational support when needed
  • Building warm, responsive relationships with customers
  • Managing production quality, plant performance, and maintenance
  • Ensuring accurate administration of raw materials, orders, and reporting
  • Supporting team development, training, and capability uplift
  • Promoting the Firth values through everyday leadership
What you’ll bring
  • Experience leading teams with empathy, clarity, and fairness
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • A calm and thoughtful approach to decision‑making
  • Confidence working within an operational, logistics, or construction environment
  • Commitment to health, safety, quality, and continual improvement
  • A willingness to be hands‑on and to support your team where needed
  • Industry experience is essential, and experience in construction or heavy manufacturing is an advantage.

If you enjoy creating a positive team culture, care deeply about safety and service, and are excited by the chance to influence both daily operations and customer experience, we’d love to welcome you to Firth.

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
