Shape the Future – Commercial Manager | Higgins Palmerston North

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join the Higgins team in Palmerston North. supporting the local region. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you’ll be part of a collaborative commercial team working closely with operational and functional teams to deliver smart, strategic outcomes across a diverse portfolio of projects.

What you’ll get involved in:

We are looking for someone to provide commercial leadership and support to the business in the following areas: 

  • Precontract commercial management
  • Budget setting
  • Procurement
  • Revenue recovery
  • Change management
  • Contract administration
  • Cost control
  • Financial reporting; and
  • Disputes and claim management

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law or relevant discipline  
  • 10 years’ experience within civil engineering/contracting sector
  • Solid understanding of NZS forms of contract
  • Excellent working knowledge of cost and revenue management
  • Clear thinker, able to identify opportunities and align others to a common approach
  • Detailed and thorough with the ability to develop solutions to problems
