Description

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Commercial Manager to join the Maintenance JV Team working on the Ara Tūhono Pūhoi to Warkworth PPP project which has extend SH1’s northern motorway 18.5km from the Johnstones Hill Tunnels to Warkworth.

What you’ll be doing

As part of a small, high performing team, you will play a hands on role in the day to day commercial and contractual management of the Maintenance phase of the PPP. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing contract oversight and ensuring full compliance with all obligations and entitlements
  • Leading the preparation, development and management of change notices, directions and contractual correspondence
  • Protecting the JV’s commercial entitlements and contractual timeframes, including claims and risk mitigation
  • Managing the end-to-end procurement process including sourcing, evaluating and engaging subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
  • Ensuring all subcontract agreements are in place, compliant and executed prior to works commencing
  • Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risk, developing practical mitigation strategies
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including partners and service providers
  • This role has a strong focus on contract administration, compliance and claims, rather than cost control or quantity surveying

What you’ll bring to the role
  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in contractual and commercial management, ideally within infrastructure or maintenance environments
  • Experience working within PPP contract models
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex contractual issues
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management and developing effective mitigation strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team and engage confidently with senior stakeholders
