Ready to bring your storytelling and people skills to a major infrastructure project?
We’re looking for someone curious, confident and community‑minded to help shape how Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi) connects with its stakeholders. If you enjoy turning complex work into clear stories, building trust with communities and working closely with teams on the ground, this role will keep you energised.

One day you’re drafting letters or filming drone footage; the next you’re out in the community meeting with stakeholders.

  • Respond to community queries and keep people informed about upcoming works
  • Support stakeholder meetings, events, market stalls and on-the-ground engagement
  • Gather story ideas, film short clips, profile our people and share updates across channels
  • Help shape internal communications and maintain consistent messaging across te

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Exposure to construction, civil infrastructure or willingness to learn the ropes
  • Strong writing skills and confidence explaining technical work in everyday language
  • Comfortable with engaging with a wide range of people
  • Ability to think on your feet, stay calm under pressure and handle sensitive stakeholders
  • Skills in video creation or editing would be an advantage
  • High level of organisation and confidence moving between office, site and community settings
  • Availability to join a roster for local weekend market stalls, as well as a 7am start once a month.

About Us

We pride ourselves on safely delivering a wide variety of construction and infrastructure projects for the people of New Zealand and the South Pacific. But our power is not in what we do, it’s in who we are. We are a team of 3,700 people working under three brands: Fletcher Construction, Higgins, and Brian Perry Civil. We may be a big team, but we haven’t lost sight of what really matters: looking after our people.

We recognise that treating our people well is only partially about what happens during work hours. It’s also about the impact we have outside of work hours too. That’s why we have incredible learning and development opportunities for staff and their families, support systems and generous corporate discounts.
