Description

Like You, We’re Proudly Building New Zealand! It’s something we are proud to have been a trusted part of, for over 90 years and counting. Every day, passionate and dedicated people come together as an industry to help build healthy, sustainable homes, creating a better future for all New Zealanders. GIB® Plasterboard is the number one choice by customers in New Zealand. Our quality and reliable products, along with our unparalleled service and support is what sets us apart. When you start with us, you will learn that we are all brought together by the passion we have for putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.

Due to promotion, we are seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to drive manufacturing excellence and site-wide performance at our Tauranga facility. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll lead process innovation, embed sustainable improvement practices, and deliver measurable gains in efficiency, quality and cost. Working closely with the site leadership team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we operate — now and into the future.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives across the end-to-end manufacturing process, including:
  • Driving Lean, Six Sigma and manufacturing excellence initiatives
  • Analysing production and quality data to improve efficiency, reliability and consistency
  • Eliminating waste, reducing variability and standardising processes
  • Leading quality systems, customer complaint investigations and audits
  • Delivering CI-focused capital projects from concept through to implementation
  • Championing a zero-harm safety culture and supporting sustainability initiatives
  • Providing technical and change leadership across the site
You’ll be hands on, and lead a small specialist team; working closely with engineering, operations, quality, supply chain and distribution teams.

What You’ll Bring
As well as a Manufacturing Excellence / Lean certification, you will ideally have:
  • An Engineering or Science qualification (mechanical or process preferred)
  • Solid experience in industrial manufacturing environments; a gypsum background being a huge advantage
  • Proven success leading continuous improvement and change in complex operations
  • Strong commercial, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive, resilient leadership style with a passion for improvement

Why Join Us?
  • Lead meaningful, site-wide improvement initiatives
  • Work with an iconic NZ manufacturing brand
  • Be based in the beautiful Bay of Plenty with an attractive salary
  • Enjoy strong backing, autonomy and career growth, with on-going opportunities both within Winstone Wallboards and the wider Fletcher Building Group.
Apply now and help drive the future of manufacturing excellence at Winstone Wallboards.
