Description

Who We Are

Stramit is one of Australia’s leading manufacturers of roll formed steel building products, with 15 sites and 600+ team members nationwide. Part of the Fletcher Building group, we’re big enough to offer stability and opportunity, yet small enough that our people and customers are known by name. We’re practical, customer focused and proud to deliver smart, durable solutions built for Australian conditions.

We’re looking for a practical, curious and relationship focused Continuous Improvement & Quality Coordinator to help lift our quality standards and drive consistent improvement across our national branch network.

Reporting to the Engineering, Quality & Technical Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening how our sites approach quality, compliance, and continuous improvement—without over engineering things. This is about making processes work on the floor and helping our people succeed.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and coordinate quality assurance activities across multiple sites
  • Coordinate auditing program (approx. 60% of the role) and guide teams through corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (approx. 40%) that are practical, realistic and easy to adopt
  • Standardise processes and documentation across branches while keeping things simple and usable
  • Partner with Branch Managers, Production Managers, Customer Service Leads and our Claims team to improve quality outcomes
  • Work with large sets of data to identify trends, failures and opportunities
  • Ask the right questions: Where did we fail? What needs to change? How do we do this better next time?
  • Support our ISO9001 framework and ensure processes are aligned with accreditation requirements
  • Keep the customer front-of-mind in everything you do

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in heavy or industrial manufacturing – essential
  • Background in quality systems, auditing, process documentation or continuous improvement
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001 and how it applies in real-world operations
  • Ability to influence, coach and bring people on the journey (not just tell them what to do)
  • A practical mindset – you know that not everything is black and white; you’re comfortable “dancing in the grey”
  • Curious, analytical thinking and the ability to work with multiple data sources
  • A customer-focused approach to quality and improvement

Why you’ll love this role

  • National scope with the flexibility to be based at Erskine Park, Crestmead or Knoxfield
  • Work with passionate leaders who value practical improvement, not paperwork for paperwork’s sake
  • Make a genuine impact on safety, quality, customer experience and operational performance

Enjoy market leading parental leave, access to Perkbox discounts, wellbeing support, and ongoing learning and development opportunities. Plus, we offer flexible work options and strong recognition programs for our people.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you’re practical, curious and want to help lift quality and improvement across a national manufacturing network, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and join Stramit in shaping smarter, safer and better ways of working.
