Fletcher Higgins Fiji is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to take the reins of our Commercial function. Based in picturesque Western Fiji, this full-time permanent role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on our operations.

Reporting directly to the Country Manager, you’ll lead a high-performing team of Quantity Surveyors and Estimators. Working across the civil construction, road maintenance and building sectors, you will drive commercial excellence, shape strategic delivery, and help ensure the success of complex projects across our Fiji business.

This is a senior leadership role with visibility across the full commercial lifecycle — from early bid strategy to project delivery governance. We’re seeking someone who’s passionate about leadership, commercially savvy, and ready to influence business outcomes through smart decision-making and collaboration.

Applicants must reside in Fiji.

What you’ll be doing:

Develop and implement precontract and procurement strategies, assess contractual risks, and negotiate terms to protect the business.
Prepare construction budgets, monitor project costs, reconcile against targets, and drive actions to maintain profitability.
Maximise entitlement through accurate claims and variation submissions, oversee cash flow forecasting, and ensure precise financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with head contract and subcontract terms, manage claims, and proactively resolve commercial disputes.
Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team in Fiji, setting clear expectations and fostering capability growth.
Champion health & safety, uphold commercial governance standards, and ensure accurate use of systems and data management tools.

What you’ll bring:

15+ years’ experience in construction industry, including at least 2 years in a senior commercial leadership role managing large, complex projects or business units.
Proven ability to lead and develop commercial teams, including performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
Strong expertise in contract administration, commercial risk management, cost control, and dispute resolution.
Demonstrated success in procurement strategy, contract negotiation, and maximising revenue through effective claims and variation management.
Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Law, or a related discipline
