We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team on a fixed term 12-month contract to cover maternity, based in Penrose, but with the opportunity to work from home a few days a week. As a Credit Controller at Fletcher Steel, you will play a crucial role in managing the credit and collections process, ensuring timely payments from our customers while maintaining strong relationships. Other key responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring and managing the accounts receivable ledger, including credit limits, payment terms, overdue accounts and reconciliation.
  • Proactively communicate with customers regarding overdue invoices, payment terms, and payment arrangements.
  • Investigate and resolve any disputes or discrepancies related to billing and payments.
  • Work closely with the sales team to assess credit risk and establish credit limits for new and existing customers.
  • Conduct regular credit reviews and recommend changes to credit terms as needed.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly reports on accounts receivable aging and collection efforts.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable and reconciliation, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
