Description

Our Christchurch team of Customer Delivery Extraordinaires is in search of a positive, confident, team player with an eye for detail. Whether you're ready for a fresh start in the New Year or keen to jump in before Christmas, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!

Our Role

As a Customer Delivery Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, helping coordinate deliveries across six concrete plants all over Canterbury. You’ll be responsible for:
  • Providing outstanding customer service through timely and accurate order processing
  • Answering busy phones, making bookings, and resolving day-of delivery queries
  • Coordinating fleet deliveries and dispatching trucks with precision and care
  • Monitoring delivery schedules and proactively resolving any issues or delays
  • Collaborating with plant crews, engineering, and sales teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of orders and deliveries
Concrete is a perishable product — you can’t just pop a truckload back on the shelf! That’s why we need someone who thrives under pressure and enjoys the challenge of keeping things moving whilst delivering top service to our customers.

What's in it for you?
  • Attractive salary package from $62k per annum
  • Range of staff discounts – PlaceMakers/Mico, PBTech, Southern Cross + more
  • Employee Education Fund – Available to all permanent employees & your immediate whanau
  • Market leading Parental Leave Policy that will make it easier to our employees to become parents while working at Firth.

What You Will Bring

We’re looking for someone who:
  • Is a natural relationship builder with strong communication skills
  • Has proven experience in customer service, logistics, dispatch, or delivery coordination
  • Is confident with computers and technology (Microsoft Suite, order inputting systems)
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and computer skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence
  • Genuine customer care—you understand what great service feels like and deliver it every time
  • Strong adaptability—you stay composed and effective when plans change, or challenges arise
  • Brings a positive attitude and enjoys having a laugh with the team
Experience in concrete batching or dispatching is a bonus, but not essential. If you’ve worked in hospitality, call centres, or other busy customer-facing environments, we’d love to hear from you!

A full driver’s licence is required. Forklift and OSH certification is preferred — but we can support the right candidate to get there.

Firth Industries is a leading supplier of ready-mix concrete, masonry products, and related solutions. With a proud history of innovation and service, we’re committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer experiences across the country.

We're on an exciting journey towards environmental sustainability and developing the skills of our people is integral to that plan.

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
