Description

The Role
We’re looking for a friendly, organised, and customer focused team member to join PlaceMakers Taupō in a combined Customer Service & Inwards Goods role.

In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers on the counter, over the phone, and within the branch while also playing an important part in ensuring products are receipted accurately, special orders are managed, and stock is available when our customers need it.

You’ll be joining a close-knit team that values teamwork, safety, and doing the job right the first time. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, likes working with systems and people, and takes pride in delivering reliable service.

Your day to day will include:
Delivering outstanding customer service at the counter and over the phone
Proactively assisting customers with product enquiries, orders, and problem solving
Accurately receipting incoming stock and checking price, quantity, and condition
Managing special orders, returns, repairs, and warranty claims
Communicating with suppliers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies or damage
Ensuring stock is labelled, located correctly, and made available for customers
Maintaining accurate documentation, systems, and paperwork
Supporting general branch operations to keep things running smoothly
Keeping your workspace tidy, organised, and customer ready
Actively contributing to branch safety and wellbeing

This is a part time, permanent role, working Monday – Friday, 27.5 hours per week, with every third Saturday 9am – 12pm.

About You

You enjoy working with people just as much as working with product and systems. You’re organised, detail focused and take pride in doing things accurately and on time. You’re a team player who pitches in and understands how your role supports the wider branch.

We’re looking for someone with:
  • A genuine customer first mindset
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confidence using computer systems (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to work well in a busy, fast-moving environment
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork
Experience in customer service, retail/trade, or stock/inwards goods is an advantage - Full training will be provided.
