Description

Stramit is looking for a hands-on Day Shift Supervisor to join our manufacturing team. This is a key leadership role for someone who’s not afraid to get on the floor, lead from the front, and keep things running smoothly between the team and the Production Manager.

You’ll lead a crew of around 30 people on day shift (roughly 5:00–6:00am start through to 2:30–3:30pm) and play a big part in making sure the day runs safely, efficiently, and gets the job done right.

About the role:

As Day Shift Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for how the shift performs day-to-day – from output and safety through to supporting your team. You’ll be out on the floor, keeping things on track and stepping in when needed.

A day in the life includes:

  • Running start-up meetings with supervisors and leading hands to get everyone set for the day
  • Making sure the right people are in the right place and sorting issues as they come up
  • Keeping production moving and stepping in to fix problems quickly
  • Taking part in daily reviews to look at what went well and what needs to improve
  • Tracking KPIs and flagging any issues early
  • Working closely with planning teams to keep things running to schedule
  • Driving a strong safety culture and making sure procedures are followed
  • Looking for ways to improve how things are done on shift
  • Managing breakdowns, shortages, and day-to-day challenges on the floor
  • Handing over clearly to the afternoon shift at the end of the day
  • Jumping in and helping out on the tools when needed

About you:

You’re a practical, straight-talking leader with solid experience in manufacturing. You know how to get the best out of people, keep things running, and handle pressure when things don’t go to plan.

You will bring:

  • 3–5 years’ experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to lead and manage large teams
  • Strong communication skills and confidence to have tough conversations when needed
  • Good people skills and the ability to build respect across the team
  • Experience working with KPIs and delivering results
  • A strong focus on safety and doing things the right way
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (experience with roll formed steel is a bonus)

Why join Stramit? At Stramit, you’ll be part of a team that values hard work, supports each other, and takes pride in what gets produced every day. There’s real opportunity here to step up, make a difference, and work alongside experienced leaders.

If you’re someone who leads by example, gets stuck in, and takes pride in running a strong shift, we’d love to hear from you.
