Description

Fair Dinkum Builds is one of Australia's most recognised names in sheds, garages, workshops and steel building solutions. Backed by one of Australia's leading building materials groups, we combine quality products, innovative technology and industry expertise to help builders grow successful businesses across Australia.

We're looking for a passionate Design and Capability Manager to play a key role in developing and supporting our national builder network.

Why This Role Matters

This is far more than a training role.

As our Design and Capability Manager, you'll help builders confidently sell, design, order, manage and construct Fair Dinkum Builds solutions. You'll become a trusted advisor and technical expert, supporting both franchise and independent builder partners while driving capability, consistency and commercial success.

Working closely with Business Development Managers, Engineering and Product teams, you'll deliver practical training, provide technical guidance, improve technology adoption and share valuable field insights that help shape future products, systems and processes.

No two days are the same. One day you might be delivering virtual training sessions, the next you're onsite with a builder solving construction challenges or facilitating workshops at a national conference.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Deliver engaging virtual and face-to-face training programs across Australia
  • Coach new and existing builder partners on systems, products and best-practice construction methods
  • Support onboarding and capability development initiatives
  • Provide technical advice on construction, buildability and product applications
  • Assist with plan interpretation, engineering drawing enquiries and BOM queries
  • Build confidence and capability in our technology platforms and design tools
  • Create practical learning resources, including videos, guides and support documentation
  • Support Development Managers to provide effective frontline support
  • Capture field feedback and contribute to product, process and technology improvements
  • Support new product launches and capability initiatives across the business

What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who's equally comfortable facilitating a training workshop, coaching one-on-one or rolling up their sleeves to solve a technical challenge.

You'll bring:
  • Experience within the shed, steel building, construction, building products or a related industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and building products
  • The ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience delivering training, coaching or capability development programs
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A genuine passion for helping others learn and succeed
  • Confidence learning and using technology platforms and business systems
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to travel interstate
Highly regarded:
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
  • Experience supporting dealer, franchise or partner networks
  • Experience with software implementation, systems training or technical enablement

Why Join Us?
This is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise, training, coaching and relationship management in a role that directly influences the success of builders across Australia.

In return, you'll enjoy:
  • A flexible Australia-wide role with national exposure
  • The opportunity to influence capability across an iconic industry brand
  • Career development opportunities across the Fletcher Building Group
  • Employee Education Fund support
  • Perkbox employee discounts
  • Fitness Passport membership
  • 26 weeks of paid parental leave
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment

Ready to Build Capability Across Australia?
If you're passionate about helping people succeed, enjoy solving technical challenges and want to play a key role in developing one of Australia's leading builder networks, we'd love to hear from you.
