Despatch Shift Team Leader – Tauriko - Afternoon Shift

The Role

We are looking for a Despatch Team Leader to join our distribution team in Tauriko on our afternoon shift (1pm - 10pm, Monday to Friday). Reporting to the Distribution Manager you will be responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing despatch operations, as well as ensuring efficient and accurate workflows. You will lead and co-ordinate a high-performing team of Despatch Operators that work within a fast-moving manufacturing and distribution site. The role requires constant prioritisation, real-time problem solving, and clear communication across multiple stakeholders including production, transport providers and internal teams.

Recognising that all incidents are preventable, you will assist in behavioural safety leadership through active participation with the team to achieve and sustain Zero Harm.

About You

We’re seeking a leader with a hands-on approach willing to work alongside the team as well as manage day-to-day workload. You’ll be a responsive team player with strong communication skills, a good sense of humour and a genuine passion for their work. You’ll bring;

At least 5 year’s forklift experience in a large distribution environment, coupled with demonstrated leadership capability in driving customer-centric distribution and transport processes.
Track record in leading successful distribution teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment essential.
Sound warehouse experience, including planning and loading skills, particularly in relation to high-risk product.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain solid working relationships.
A strong safety leadership mindset, with excellent attention to detail and organisation skills.
Proficiency in warehouse management systems
