About the Role:

We are currently seeking a detailer to join our dynamic team. You will be part of a team responsible for turning architectural and engineer plans into precise Frame & Truss designs. To do this you’ll work closely with experienced Detailers, Production teams, and customers to ensure every design is accurate, compliant, and buildable.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Reading and interpreting architectural, engineering, and consent plan
  • Using Mitek 20/20 and Sapphire software to create accurate Frame & Truss layouts
  • Supporting internal teams and customers with technical queries
  • Ensuring all detailing meets NZ building codes and standards (NZS3604) and customer requirements.
  • Optimise designs for efficiency in manufacture and on-site installation
  • Work closely with estimators, production plant, and sales teams to ensure clear communication and seamless project delivery
  • Provide practical solutions to any design or coordination challenges that arise
  • Accurately processes and store job documentation
  • Assist in making the Frame & Truss process seamless for the customer end to end by helping with consulting with clients, booking, managing scheduling and ensuring that the invoicing is accurate.

Working Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, you will have the opportunity to really add value and take ownership. This role is paying between $30.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience.

About you:

You will have the ability to read building plans and be exceptional at customer service. Ideally you have proven experience in the construction industry and a proficiency in frame and truss detail work.

Qualifications / Experience required:

  • A relevant NZQF Diploma such as a Diploma in Timber Structure Detailing or the equivalent of at least three years of relevant experience
  • Experience using Mitek 20/20 and Sapphire software (or similar) to create Frame & Truss layouts (advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience with building products or codes (advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong computer literacy (experience with AutoCAD or similar is a bonus)
  • Exceptional customer services skills
  • Motivated, self-driven and able to work independently
  • Organizational and administrative skills – Able to implement and maintain strong systems to ensure our customers experience is positive every time.
