Careers Made Possible at Brian Perry Civil
Ready to take the next step in your career? Join a team that thrives on collaboration and bold thinking, delivering complex civil projects that shape communities and protect environments. Here, your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your work leaves a lasting impact.

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy construction equipment from excavators and cranes to piling rigs and telehandlers. Based at our Drury workshop with regular site exposure, this is a hands-on role where your expertise directly supports safe and productive project delivery.

  • Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical faults
  • Carrying out scheduled servicing to manufacturer and company standards
  • Responding to breakdowns both in the workshop and on-site
  • Completing pre-start and post-service inspections with accurate job card records
  • Supporting plant compliance, certifications, and audits
  • Working closely with operations teams to keep downtime to a minimum

What You’ll Bring

  • A relevant trade qualification in Heavy Diesel or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience on heavy civil or construction plant, cranes, piling rigs, or specialist civil plant
  • Strong hydraulics, diesel, and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Class 2 or above licence
  • Welding and fabrication ability
  • Ability to read service manuals and schematics
  • A solid safety mindset and good communication skills

You'll be someone who takes pride in their work, can operate independently, and thrives in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Occasional after-hours breakdown support and travel to project sites will be required.
