Description

Are you ready to make a significant impact on a transformative project? Fletcher Construction is seeking a 12d / BIM Modeller (Digital Engineering Technician) to support the delivery of Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi), a complex and high profile infrastructure project based in Lower Hutt.

This is a practical, hands-on 12d modelling role, ideal for someone coming from a BIM, CAD or civil design background who enjoys working close to construction and seeing their models come to life onsite.

About the Role

You’ll work as part of an experienced digital engineering team, building and maintaining accurate 12d models that support planning, sequencing, safety and as‑built delivery. Your focus will include:

  • Creating, maintaining and updating 12d models for underground services and civil works
  • Integrating survey, design and construction data into live project models
  • Supporting model validation, clash detection and quality assurance
  • Updating models with as‑built information
  • Assisting with model‑based quantities and asset data outputs
  • Working closely with engineers, designers, surveyors and site teams to ensure models are construction‑ready

This is a role where accuracy, constructability and collaboration really matter.

What you’ll bring to the role

We’re open to a range of backgrounds, but you’ll ideally have:

  • Hands‑on experience using 12d software (essential)
  • Experience modelling underground services, utilities, drainage or civil works
  • Background as a BIM Modeller, CAD Technician, 12d Technician or Civil Design Technician
  • Exposure to infrastructure projects (contractor or consultancy)
  • Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to manage your own workload

Relevant qualifications at diploma or degree level are beneficial, but practical 12d capability is the key requirement.

About Us

We pride ourselves on safely delivering a wide variety of construction and infrastructure projects for the people of New Zealand and the South Pacific. But our power is not in what we do, it’s in who we are. We are a team of 3,700 people working under three brands: Fletcher Construction, Higgins, and Brian Perry Civil. We may be a big team, but we haven’t lost sight of what really matters: looking after our people.

We recognise that treating our people well is only partially about what happens during work hours. It’s also about the impact we have outside of work hours too. That’s why we have incredible learning and development opportunities for staff and their families, support systems and generous corporate discounts.
