Lead Our Perth, Welshpool Distribution Centre: A Unique Opportunity at Laminex

Are you ready to take charge of our Welshpool Distribution Centre?

We’re searching for an experienced leader with a minimum of 5 years of experience managing a large distribution centre, ideally with an in-house transport team (trucks and drivers). What You'll Be Responsible For:

In this role, you’ll oversee the main Distribution Centre with 34 full-time employees on a site that spans 20,000 square meters as well as our satellite fulfilment hub in Dardanup with a smaller team of 3 employees. Ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations, you'll manage logistics and oversee the entire distribution process. Safety will be one of your top priorities as you promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all necessary regulations. You'll monitor performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement, using data to identify areas for enhancement and driving operational excellence.

Team leadership will be central to your success. You'll be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing your team, from entry-level staff to managers. You'll also oversee inventory management processes, ensuring stock accuracy and minimising losses, while continually looking for opportunities to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Collaboration will be key, as you’ll work closely with other departments such as sales and procurement to ensure a seamless supply chain. You'll be prepared to handle crises and operational disruptions by developing and implementing risk management strategies.

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience managing large-scale distribution centres, with a minimum of 5 years required.
Previous experience within the building materials industry will be highly regarded
Experience managing an in-house transport team, including trucks and drivers.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
Knowledge of inventory management systems.
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and build strong relationships.
Proficiency in systems like Excel, Word, and warehouse management tools.
Ability to drive the team towards a customer-centric culture and sustainable DIFOT performance.
