Our Australian Made Story

For over 90 years, we have been manufacturing and procuring a wide range of products for both commercial and residential use, including laminate, and panel products. Our goal is to ensure that all Australians can enjoy beautiful and practical spaces. Today, Laminex surfaces can be found everywhere – in hospitals, shopping centres, restaurants, and homes.

Where Your Story Begins

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Distribution Site Supervisor to lead and drive continuous improvement within our established team at the Darwin (Berrimah) site in the Northern Territory. As a key member of our Supply Chain team, you will oversee the Distribution site, servicing greater Darwin from order entry to customer delivery. You will ensure that our service offer is maintained, service levels and KPIs are met, and operations remain within budget and comply with all OH&S rules and regulations.

This is a permanent full-time position with a competitive salary. Your standard hours will be 7.30am – 3.36pm Monday to Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Uphold Laminex's strong safety and wellbeing values, operating under the belief that "all injuries are preventable."
  • Ensure effective resource planning for day-to-day Distribution Centre operations.
  • Monitor and communicate KPIs for each functional area, implementing corrective actions to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
  • Direct and monitor team performance to meet supply chain targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional division managers, particularly Regional Sales Managers, Inventory & EHS teams and the regional network manager.
  • Ensure Distribution Centre operations adhere to budget requirements.
  • Promote and enforce company policies, ensuring operational staff are aware of their responsibilities (e.g., Security, OH&S, EEO, Industrial Agreement, Discrimination and Harassment policies).
  • Review and implement continuous improvements, promoting the Laminex Supply Chain Excellence Program.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and development of team members, identifying opportunities to improve employee engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, leading daily toolbox meetings.
  • Manage the site distribution fleet, warehouse operations, suppliers, and inventory.

Selection Criteria:

  • Proven experience in warehouse or DC management/supervision.
  • Previous fleet management experience is highly regarded.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Computer literacy in ASW, Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of business planning systems for distribution and inventory management.
  • Experience in managing stakeholder relationships and understanding their supply chain challenges.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement programs is advantageous.
