Description

Higgins has an opportunity for a skilled Class 5 Driver to join our team working on the Waikato District Council northern road maintenance and renewals contract. This contract covers North Waikato from Huntly to Pōkeno and includes the maintenance of approximately 1,200 km of sealed and unsealed roads, spanning rural and coastal areas.

Based out of our Te Kauwhata depot, you will be operating Truck and Trailer, 6-wheeler tipper truck, 18 speed manual road ranger (18 speed split). 

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Class 5 license and relevant Class 5 experience 
  • Truck and Trailer experience 
  • Manual Road ranger gear box experience essential 
  • Prior experience transporting plant, product and asphalt is ideal, but training can be provided 
  • A safety-first attitude – for yourself and the public
  • Reliable, punctual, and motivated
  • A good communicator & team player
