Description

Higgins Wellington is looking for experienced and safety-focused Class 5 Driver to join our team. This role is responsible for operating heavy trucks, plant and machinery while supporting the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects across the region. What you'll be doing
  • Operating Class 5 trucks, plant and machinery as required
  • Delivering products, plant and machinery to project sites safely and efficiently
  • Loading, unloading and securing loads for transportation
  • Completing delivery documentation, logbooks, weight records and inspection records
  • Undertaking pre-start checks and carrying out routine preventative maintenance
  • Ensuring vehicles, plant and equipment are appropriately licensed and compliant
  • Reporting maintenance requirements, defects, incidents and hazards promptly
  • Following all company procedures, specifications and industry best practice standards
  • Working professionally with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and members of the public
  • Supporting project teams with other operational duties as required

What you'll bring
  • Current Class 5 driver's licence & W, T and R endorsements.
  • Proven experience operating heavy vehicles and/or construction plant and machinery
  • Ability to follow procedures, plans, schedules and instructions accurately
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety and safe work practices
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic
  • D Endorsement and Spill Kit Training (desirable)
  • Knowledge of civil construction plant and equipment (desirable)
