Are you passionate about promoting a culture of safety and excellence? As an EHS Advisor you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of our team members and the success of our project. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and be part of a Wind Farm project located in Hawera.  This is a full time, fixed term opportunity till February 2027.


About the Role

In this role, you will play a crucial part in promoting a safety culture and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards. Reporting to the EHSQ Manager, you will provide high-level professional advice, coach teams on best practices, and lead by example.

  • Provide high-level professional advice to front-line leaders and the workforce to promote an interdependent safety culture.
  • Coach crews on best practice safety and help them ensure all risks are appropriately managed in the workplace.
  • Review and provide feedback on implemented site EHS plans with team leaders.
  • Lead by example, implementing Higgins practices and values.
  • Conduct comprehensive accident/incident investigations and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders and keep up to date with industry trends.


What you will bring to the role

  • Previous advisory experience in health and safety within the civil construction industry is essential 
  • Tertiary qualifications in EHS 
  • Excellent knowledge of the NZ legislative environment including HSE, ACC and HSNO and industry guidelines and standards 
  • Thorough knowledge of work-related illnesses and injuries, and rehabilitation processes
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive accident/incident investigations, recommend correct and preventative actions
  • Strong communication skills with a coaching, influencing emphasis 
  • Ability to build credibility and trust in the business
