Description

Who We Are

Stramit is one of Australia’s leading names in steel building products, proudly supplying the sheds, warehouses, workshops, and industrial builds that keep the country moving. We’re part of the Fletcher Building Group, a major player across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

Here in WA, our focus is simple: keep people safe, keep the work moving, and deliver quality gear our customers can rely on.

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Business Partner on a 12 month fixed term contract to support our operations in Western Australia. This is a full-time, on-site role where you’ll be working side-by-side with supervisors, tradies, operators, and managers to keep our people safe and our sites running smoothly.

This role suits someone who’s comfortable walking the floor, talking with crews, and helping leaders lift their safety game—not just filling out paperwork.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working directly our Operations teams to roll out and maintain our safety systems
  • Coaching supervisors and managers to build a genuine, proactive safety culture.
  • Taking the lead on incident investigations and making sure corrective actions happen.
  • Running risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits to keep standards high.
  • Keeping track of safety performance, spotting trends, and helping the team improve.
  • Making sure we meet WA safety legislation and internal policies.
  • Supporting and delivering safety training programs across sites.
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with frontline teams and leaders.
  • Representing Stramit across industry groups and government discussions where needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in EHS (or similar).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an EHS advisory role—manufacturing, trades, fabrication, logistics, or heavy industry experience is a big plus.
  • Solid understanding of WA safety legislation and workers’ compensation/claims.
  • Confident communicator who can chat with everyone from machine operators to senior leaders.
  • Someone who can influence, coach, and support—not just enforce.
  • A team player who’s self-driven and can work independently when needed.
  • Experience delivering or supporting local EHS systems and programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full working rights in Australia

Why Work With Us?

At Stramit, we look after our people. Whether you’re in the yard, on the tools, or in the office, you’ll be part of a solid team that values safety, reliability and getting the job done right.

This role is based at our site in Maddington and is Monday to Friday.

We offer:

  • Employee Education Fund - a trust set up to pay for all external training and development opportunities for employees
  • Industry-leading Parental Leave: 26 weeks full pay for primary carers (or 52 weeks at 50%). Secondary carers receive 4 weeks full pay.
  • Support for young workers and first-time job seekers through community partnerships.
  • PerkBox membership with discounts across major retailers.
  • Full training, tools, tech and support—including phone and laptop.

If you’re the type of person who shows up, cares about doing things safely, and wants to work with a down-to-earth, supportive crew, we’d love to hear from you.
