Description

Fletcher Building’s Heavy Building Materials Division is seeking an experienced and strategic EHS Systems & Assurance Manager to lead our environmental, health, and safety efforts.

This is a senior leadership role where you’ll shape the future of EHS across our division, fostering a culture of care, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:
As a trusted partner to our business units, you will:
  • Lead the development and implementation of our EHS Management Programme (PROTECT and Radar), aligning with Fletcher Building’s strategic goals.
  • Guide and support business units in creating risk-informed EHS plans and sustainability initiatives.
  • Facilitate management reviews, leadership engagement activities, and provide expert advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Strengthen EHS capability through coaching, mentoring, and tailored training programmes.
  • Oversee incident investigations, performance monitoring, and assurance activities to ensure robust systems and continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic leadership on environmental management, including waste, water, and carbon emissions.
  • Monitor global trends and regulatory changes, ensuring our practices remain progressive and compliant.
  • Lead divisional EHS projects and contribute to the development of group-wide standards and processes.

What You’ll Bring:
  • 8–10 years’ experience in EHS within large or complex organisations.
  • A relevant degree in safety or a related discipline (postgraduate preferred).
  • Deep knowledge of EHS systems, legislation, and best practice.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and drive change.
  • Experience in coaching senior leaders and managing complex risk environments.
  • ICAM investigation and auditing experience is preferred.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact—leading with empathy, empowering others, and driving excellence in EHS across our division.
