We’re looking for an experienced and strategic Engineering Manager to lead our site engineering function at the Laminex manufacturing plant near Dardanup in the southwest of Western Australia. This is a pivotal leadership role focused on driving world-class operational performance through engineering excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

The role you’ll play

You’ll lead capital projects, support operational reliability, and collaborate across departments to elevate site performance.

This full-time, Monday – Friday, on-site role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of engineering at Laminex, with a strong focus on strategic development, coaching, and innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support operational reliability teams to achieve business goals.
  • Coach and develop staff in best practice maintenance and engineering processes.
  • Investigate and implement initiatives for performance and cost improvement.
  • Maintain Quality & Sustainability management systems to support compliance and continuous improvement.

What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Degree in engineering or science discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5–10 years’ experience in senior engineering management roles within 24/7 industrial environments.
  • Proven leadership in maintenance and project planning, including shutdowns.
  • Deep knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in large manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience with wood processing and material handling systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in CMMS platforms, MS Office, and MS Project.
  • Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance production, safety, environment, and resources effectively.

Why join us?
  • 26 weeks of full-pay parental leave (or 52 weeks at half pay), with flexible return-to-work options.
  • Career development in a forward-thinking, supportive environment.
  • A strong focus on safety, well-being, and continuous improvement.
  • Extensive discounts on all Fletcher Building products—perfect for your next home renovation!

If you’re a driven and resilient engineering leader ready to make a lasting impact in Australian manufacturing, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and become part of our story.
