About the Role
Are you looking for an opportunity to start your career in design, manufacturing, or construction? Laminex Australia is seeking an enthusiastic Estimating & Drawing Team Member to join our On-Site Estimating and Drawing team in Bathurst, NSW!  No prior experience? No problem! If you have the right attitude, a willingness and a desire to learn, we’ll provide full training and development to help you build your career from the ground up.

This is an entry-level estimator and drawing position where you’ll learn to create Shop drawings and Cost estimates for commercial projects involving Toilet Partitions, Lockers, Slat Wall Seating, Vanities & Cut to Size Panels. You’ll work closely with key Laminex product installers as well as Builders, Cabinetmakers & other clients to deliver a tailored service that assists with customer needs.

A typical day includes:
  • Generating shop drawings for commercial customers using Pytha 3D CAD software.
  • Preparing cost-based estimates and assembling cutting lists.
  • Supporting project coordinators in identifying & generating product scope & requirements.
  • Collaborating with the sales and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate production.
  • Assisting with general duties and projects as required.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Bring your enthusiasm, a positive attitude, curiosity and eagerness to learn.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Basic IT or admin skills
  • Prior experience using Pytha 3D CAD, Projectpak, Shoppak and Salesforce or similar technical applications would be ideal but not essential. Training & mentoring of internal systems will be given to successful candidate.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
  • The ability to grasp and learn technical products.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and a desire to work in an agile, continuously improving environment.
  • A strong interest in building, design, or manufacturing industries and the ability to read/interpret drawings is highly advantageous
