Description

We are looking for an Estimator to join the Higgins team in Mount Maunganui. We are looking for an Estimator to join the Higgins team in Mount Maunganui. In this role, you will prepare accurate, competitive tenders and quotes across a range of civil construction projects, working closely with project teams, suppliers and subcontractors to develop pricing that is robust, practical, and ready for delivery.

You will own the estimating process from first review through to handover, balancing risk, cost, and constructability to support strong project outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

Prepare detailed tenders, estimates and pricing plans that meet client and internal requirements
Review tender documents and identify scope, risks, assumptions and opportunities
Price labour, plant, materials and subcontractor inputs using CCS (Candy) software
Work with suppliers and subcontractors to secure accurate and competitive pricing
Maintain clear tender records, win/loss tracking, and estimate documentation
Complete thorough handovers to operations once tenders are awarded

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent estimating experience
Proven tendering experience within roading / civil infrastructure construction
Strong working knowledge of estimating tools, including CCS (Candy)
Confident communicator who can work across technical and non technical teams
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tenders at once
Organised, methodical approach and sound judgement around risk and pricing
