Description

Higgins is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Christchurch team. In this role, you will play a key part in the bidding and tender preparation process for projects across the region, with values up to $20 million.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will work within a skilled and collaborative team responsible for managing the full tender lifecycle. This includes risk prediction, assessment and valuation; preparation, review, and submission of tenders and quotes; pricing of variations; attribute writing; and the delivery of detailed bid submissions.

We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 2-3 years of Estimating experience in the Civil Construction industry. Experience across all civil disciplines, including earthworks, pavements, surfacing, and drainage, is highly beneficial.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years Estimating Experience in the Civil Construction Industry
  • Proven experience working on civil construction and/or roading tenders and projects
  • Hands on experience working on tenders and bids and their complexities 
  • Proficient with CCS Candy, Benchmark and Microsoft Projects
  • A result focused, commercially astute outlook and a practical approach to problem solving  
  • Ability to handle a diverse workload, whilst finding creative and forward-thinking solutions
  • Technical qualifications preferred
  • Client engagement experience, you will work with clients/customers to ensure they understand our bids and resolve concerns or issues 
  • Sound contractual knowledge especially NZS 3910:2013
